On July 19, the deployment ceremony of 「2022 Busan Global Friends in Cambodia」 was held at the BFIC. With the presence of the representatives from the Busan Nurses Association including Ms. Hwang, Ji-won, the Association’s President, the attendees commemorated the on-site volunteering activities under the name of Busan Global Friends would be resumed after the outbreak of COVID-19. BFIC Secretary-General Chung Jong-pil mentioned that Phnom Penh and Busan have been sister cities since 2009, and that the relationship has been strong due to continuous volunteer activities. In addition, as the dispatch will resume for the first time since COVID-19, he asked for safe activities above all. Hwang Ji-won, Chairman of the Busan Nurses Association, hoped that the Busan Global Friends’ activities would spread "Life Support" technology that can save lives in a short period of time, so that the citizens of Phnom Penh's perception of CPR could change.
The 「2022 Busan Global Friends in Cambodia」 donated 10 cardiopulmonary resuscitation education equipment to Phnom Penh in June, and will conduct local volunteer activities for 6 days starting on July 24. The volunteer activities will be held at Hosanna School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and Choeung-Ek Health Center in Sister Village, respectively, and will provide basic CPR education as well as health and hygiene education for local citizens and health/medical officials.
