The secretary general of BFIC Jeong Jong-pil and deputy secretary general Lee Chi-woo, attended the opening ceremony of the Indonesian Cooperation Center on Thursday, June 2. The Indonesian Centre is a cooperative institution, established jointly by Busan University of Foreign Studies and the Indonesian Embassy in Korea. As a cooperative hub between the two countries, the organization was established not only to promote Indonesia, but also to cooperate with the Indonesian Central Government, Local Government, Educational Institutions and Private organizations. The opening ceremony was attended by Indonesian Ambassador to Korea H.E. Gandhi Sulistianto Soeherman, President of Busan University of Foreign Studies Kim Hong-koo, former Korean Ambassador to Indonesia Kim Chang-beom, Education and Culture Manager Dr. Gogot Sugarwoto. And including Head of the Indonesian Trade Center, Reprsentitive of Garuda Indonesia, Representitive of Korea-Indonesia Central Bank, 50 guests was also attended. At the opening ceremony, Indonesia's ambassador to Korea H.E. Gandhi Sulistianto Soeherman said, "Indonesia Centre is meaningful as the first cooperative organization officially established in Indonesia. We look forward to diverse activities in various fields as well as culture in the future. And we will fully support the Indonesian embassy." Kim Hong-koo, president of Busan University of Foreign Studies, said, "We expect the establishment of Indonesia Centre to greatly expand exchanges between the two countries in the future. As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Busan-Indonesia's diplomatic relations in 2023, we hope to jointly host various events." As the first Indonesian Centre is opened in Busan, we hope that exchanges and cooperation between Busan and Indonesia will be further be expanded.✨ |
