1. Check the information of infectious diseases outbreak in abroad

○ Information on the outbreak of infectious diseases in each country can be found on the website of Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (http://cdc.go.kr) or via KCDC call center 1339.

2. Get the vaccination at least 2 weeks before departure

○ International vaccinations for overseas travel should be done at least two weeks before departure. Vaccines against yellow fever and cholera are available in the certified designated institutions, and other vaccines (e.g. hepatitis A, typhoid, and polio) at nearby medical and health centers.

* For health center, check the availability of adult vaccinations before visiting
* Antimalarial drugs are available at the health center and general hospital (infectious disease dept.)

3. Avoid animal contact when traveling abroad

○ Avoid contact with wild animals such as camels, birds and take precautions against mosquito bites.

4. Submit your health questionnaire when entering the country

○ In case of a stay or stopover in a contaminated area with quarantine infection, submit a health questionnaire to a quarantine officer when entering the country and report if symptoms such as fever and cough occur.

5. If symptoms occur after returning to Korea, report it to the KCDC call center at 1339

○ If symptoms occur within the incubation period after returning home, report it to the KCDC call center at 1399 to get prompt action such as linking to a health center.
